Pennies for Puppies has been launched in response for an immediate need for assistance rescuing dogs/puppies from rural high-kill NC shelters accused of using vicious and inhumane methods to put-down dogs that haven’t been rescued. Not only have these shelters been inhumanely killing animals, they have also been denying medical attention when an animal is in urgent need as well.
Witnesses have seen shelter staff bleaching dogs that were sick, including bleaching tiny puppies and watching as their mother frantically tried to save them. They have been seen dragging animals through the shelter even when they were injured.
These shelters must be stopped, but most importantly these dogs need to be rescued. As a rescue it is near impossible without the proper resources including veterinary care and foster homes.
The goal of Pennies for Puppies is to raise funds that will be used solely to benefit the rescues taking dogs from these shelters. It will be used to cover vet expenses, necessary supplies including bedding and food as well as transportation from NC to the Northern VA area. Every little penny contributed will help save a dog. Don’t think that anything is too small.
